May Dinner Meeting Enjoyed by Many
Approximately 90 members and guests braved the elements to
attend this function. For the first time, the usual
business meeting and speaker were not part of this program--just
a more relaxed environment to commiserate about the weather
and exchange fishing stories. Joe Branzetti left with a large
smile after winning the door prize. Thanks to the following
helpers whose efforts made this event successful: Jack
Sasso, Joe Branzetti, Lillian Flanagan, Kristi MacKeil, Forrest
Saldo, Bob Wilson, Bill Cullen, Ed Wagner, Joe “Doc” Ruff,
Norm Clark, Esmat Nouri, Frank Kuehn, Joane Fauthe, Sandy
Nicholson, Bengt Weisshuhn, John Russo and others who did
not sign in. Special thanks go to George Lundquist for
handling reservations and Lou MacKeil for his work as head
chef.

River Day 2005
Over 30 kids took part in this year's fishing derby held as
part of the Marstons Mills River Day celebration. Kris Clark,
the coordinator of the event, as usual made our job very easy
with the difficult prep work done for us. Every participant
got a prize donated from local merchants. A number of
the parents praised Salties members for their assistance in
enabling their children to catch such fish as rainbow trout,
perch, sunfish, and largemouth and smallmouth bass.
Joe Branzetti, Joe Ruff, Bill Cullen, Bill St. Louis, Norm
Clark, Steve Paglierani and his son, and Bill Cottle participated
in this worthwhile activity .
